Mr. Akintan Omotayo (Director)

Mr. Akintan Omotayo is a highly accomplished finance professional, investment banker, and business leader with over three decades of experience spanning capital markets, corporate finance, asset management, and financial advisory services. He holds a Higher National Diploma in Accountancy from The Polytechnic Ibadan and is a Fellow of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS). He is also an alumnus of the Lagos Business School and has participated in numerous international conferences and executive programs, further strengthening his global perspective on finance and investment.
He is the Founder and Group Chief Executive Officer of Imperial Asset Managers Limited (established in 2007) and Imperial Capital Advisers Limited, where he leads a leading stockbroking and asset management group with significant presence in the Nigerian capital market. Under his leadership, the firm has built a strong reputation managing assets worth over ₦10 billion and providing services to pension fund administrators, high-net-worth individuals, and major corporate clients. His strategic direction has positioned the organization as a key player on the Nigerian Exchange Limited, with strong shareholder value and sustained growth.
Prior to founding Imperial Asset Managers, Mr. Akintan held several senior leadership roles in the banking and financial services sector, including Managing Director/CEO of MBC Securities Limited and Assistant General Manager/Head of Corporate Finance Group at Fidelity Bank Plc. Throughout his career, he has led and executed major transactions in privatization, mergers and acquisitions, project financing, and capital raising. Notable assignments include advisory roles in the privatization of key national assets, structuring multi-billion-naira financing deals, managing investment funds, and coordinating cross-border financial transactions. His expertise spans financial modelling, risk analysis, investment strategy, and business development.
In addition to his executive responsibilities, Mr. Akintan serves on the board of several companies, contributing his extensive experience in governance, strategy, and financial oversight. He is an active member of many professional and advocacy bodies and has consistently contributed to policy dialogue and industry development. With a career defined by leadership, innovation, and a deep understanding of financial systems, he continues to play a pivotal role in shaping investment and capital market activities in Nigeria.
