Mrs. Wosu Chinyelu (Director)

Mrs. Wosu Chinyelu is an accomplished legal practitioner and corporate governance professional with over 25 years’ experience across public sector administration, legal practice, and financial services. She holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) from the University of Lagos, a Barrister-at-Law (B.L) qualification from the Nigerian Law School, Abuja, and a Bachelor of Laws (LL. B) from the University of Nigeria. She is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, the Chartered Institute of Public Diplomacy & Management (CIPDM) the Employment Labour Lawyers Association of Nigeria (ELLAN), and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN) and has undertaken extensive professional training in employment law, corporate governance, dispute resolution, and public diplomacy.
She has developed deep expertise in litigation management, regulatory compliance, employment law, and social insurance administration through her long-standing career at the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF). In various leadership roles, she has overseen complex legal matters, advised on policy and regulatory frameworks, coordinated enforcement activities, and contributed to the effective implementation of the Employee Compensation Scheme. Her work involves stakeholder engagement across government, private sector organizations, and beneficiaries, ensuring legal and operational alignment with statutory requirements.
Earlier in her career, she gained valuable experience in private legal practice and the banking sector, where she handled litigation, contract documentation, credit analysis, and business development. This diverse professional background has equipped her with a strong understanding of both legal and commercial environments, enhancing her ability to provide strategic, solution-oriented advice. She is also actively engaged in mentorship, training, and community service, including pro bono legal work and volunteer initiatives.
She currently serves as Board Secretary of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) where she provides strategic legal and governance support to the Board, ensures compliance with statutory obligations, and facilitates effective coordination between the Board, management, and key stakeholders.
